Montana
After two days in Colorado Springs, we set out again on our journey to Alaska. We stopped in Cheyenne, Wyoming to check out the selection at the Sierra Trading Post outlet store, then resumed our drive north to Billings, Montana, where we spent our fourth night on the road.

We stopped for lunch in Bozeman, home to Montana State University, and visited the Museum of the Rockies, famous for its collection of dinosaur fossils.
From there we continued west into the mountains, then made our way north to Kalispell where we holed up for the night. | ![]() T-rex in Bozeman |
Glacier National Park
We celebrated the 4th of July with a drive through Glacier National Park. Established in 1910, Glacier NP was combined with Canada’s neighboring Waterton Lakes National Park in 1932 to form the world’s first “international peace park”, and Waterton-Glacier was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1995. Going-to-the-Sun Road, which traverses the park through Logan Pass (6,646 ft), was constructed between 1924 and 1933, allowing tourists like us to partake of the park’s stunning beauty from the comfort of our cars.- Click here for more photos from Glacier NP.
